Five lucky Centurion residents had the opportunity to attend a first of its kind food market pop-up dining experience brought by Mrs Balls on Thursday evening.

The company famous for its chutneys recently launched an online food market, recipe guide and three new chutney flavours saying it wanted its consumers to experience a variety of dishes that included its chutneys or sauces as an ingredient.

The five were selected in a Facebook competition and could bring three friends or family members each for wining and dining at the Publican Bar and Grill restaurant.

They were treated to a three-course meal of snoek pate with peach chutney glaze, avo salad and sourdough toast, fillet wellington with pampoenkoekies in a chutney caramel sauce, mushy peas and beetroot wellington with sweet chilli passion fruit cheesecake with burnt marshmallow and pineapple for dessert.

“I think it is a great initiative from Mrs Balls and we were treated amazingly well and spoilt. The way they use the chutney in the desert was unexpected, I loved it,” she said.
