A group of Porsche enthusiasts came together at Loftus Versveld on Sunday to raise money for a very special young man.
The legendary Porsche Loftus Sunday gathering was revived on 17 September. It used to be a popular gathering in the 80s and 90s.
The event was sponsored by the Porsche centre in Pretoria and supported by the Porsche Club of South Africa (central region). Loftus Versefeld made its grounds available for the event.
Dyllan Beneckhe who matriculated last year from Pretoria Boy’s High School was the beneficiary.

He was paralysed following a tackle in 2014 while playing rugby.
Beneckhe also had opportunity to choose a Porsche out of the 150 on display to be taken for a ride in.
“It is so nice of them to do this for me and to make me a part of this day,” he said, describing himself as a huge vehicle enthusiast.
“In 2014, while playing for the Tuks youth team, I went down for a tackle but the other player landed on my neck. It was no one’s fault. It was a freak accident.”

In 2018 he plans to study at Tuks. “I am still deciding between law and psychology.”
CEO of Porsche SA Toby Venter also attended the event to show off the first Porsche 911 GT3 available in South Africa.
