Great turnout at Muddy Princess event in Cullinan

More than 1 500 women took part in the Muddy Princess 5km obstacle mud run on Saturday.

The event was held in Cullinan in aid of the Pink Drive, a charity organisation for women with breast cancer.

Muddy Princess social media strategist and PR manager Areesh Bassardien said she was very happy with the turnout.

“I’m pleased with the turnout and we received no complaints from the ladies,” said Bassardien.

“Most of them said they would take part again. This has been our muddiest event by far.”

Pink Drive events coordinater Tshepiso Mojanaga said the charity was glad to be part of the Muddy Princess event.

“We are happy to be affiliated with them and we are also here to offer free clinical breast checks for women and prostrate screening for men because early detection saves lives,” said Mojanaga.

Natasha Grobler, a participant, said the muddy challenge was amazing.

“We went on tyres, drums, mud puddles and even swam in the mud. I had such a great time,” said Grobler.

Mariska Smit said: “I especially enjoyed the team building session.”

Christa Bowles, who also took part, said she would definitely take on the challenge again.

“I would do it again, it was amazing and we got to make new friends because everyone helped each other out there,” said Bowles.
