A walk to showcase city’s illustrious buildings

Fun walk focuses on old and new buildings.

A property group organised a fun walk on Saturday to showcase Pretoria’s most attractive and historical buildings.

The group, 012 Central, organised the walk from Helen Joseph Street in Pretoria, crisscrossing the inner city and passing through some of the city’s most popular buildings.

Tour guide Adriaan Louw said the inner city needed to be marketed and the walk was intended to show a different size to the infamous inner city.

“Everything is here in the inner city and we needed to show our people that there are beautiful and historical places many do not know of,” he said.

“We provided the historical background of these buildings in order to enlighten the participants and hopefully get them interested in moving into the inner city.”

012 central manager Liza Nel said the group had been organising the fun walks for more than two years and they were growing in popularity.

“People love seeing these old and new buildings that have a meaning they have not been aware of. The number of people that attend our events has been increasing since we started.”
