SPAR retail chain, in conjunction with Irene running club hosted the annual SPAR lantern race in Centurion at the agricultural research council campus on Wednesday.
The race was divided in two categories, a 10km and 5km run and the winners walked away with cash and loads of SPAR grocery hampers were given away.
The first 10 men and 10 women and category winners received gold medals, and the top 100 finishers silver medals.
Everyone who finished the 5km fun run, and the 3 000 to finish the 10km route received bronze medals.
