Art exhibition help raise funds for cancer

Artists give 20% of their sales to support cancer.

More campaigns are needed to help raise awareness in the community.

This is according to the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) that is hosting its ninth annual art exhibition to raise money to help educate the public about Cansa.

The exhibition started on 20 March and is expected to run until 27 March from 08:00 until 18:00.

Unisa campus sponsored the event for Cansa by offering the art gallery for free for the week.

Sixteen well-known artists showcase their artwork.

The organiser of the exhibition, Marais Munnik, said: “20% of the sales made by the artists will go to Cansa. The money will be used to educate the public about cancer and provide hope and support to cancer survivors,” he said.

Anyone who wants to support the exhibition can phone Munnik on 012-329-3036.
