Dog walk held to raise money for the SPCA

Era Real Estate in partnership with the SPCA held a dog walk at Hedianga Farm on Sunday.

Hundreds of people turned up with their dogs of different sizes and shapes to support a dog walk held to raise money for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).

The dog walk, organised by ERA Real Estate was held at Hedianga Farm in Olympus on Sunday.

SPCA manager, Korky Levanon said the objective of the dog walk was to help combat animal cruelty, abandonment and neglect.

“The money raised from this event will be channelled towards supporting the SPCA’s  inspectorate division,” Levanon said.

She said the SPCA was involved in proactive work whereby we visit places where dogs are used for security.

“We make sure we check whether the dogs are looked after properly,” she said.

Office administrator from Era Real Estate, Corlene Kruger, said this was the third dog walk they have organised to help support the SPCA only, this year.

“We have partnered with the SPCA and all proceeds on the day will be donated to the society,” she said.

The event was fun-filled with many prizes.

Those who came with their dogs had the option of a short route as well as a longer route.
