How to apply for Grade 1 to 8 online
Follow these easy steps to register your child for the 2017 school year.
The application and registration process to get your child into school in 2017 is now open and parents are urged to apply online from 19 April from 08:00 to avoid disappointment.
To apply, visit www.gdeadmissions.gov.za and the application period will close at midnight 1 June.
Follow these easy steps to apply online:
– First time user will be required to click the “Register” button to register parent information before making an application
– The pop-up screen will prompt the parent to “Select the Registration Type” for South African or non-South African Citizen
– Then ID/Passport number.
– Then create your login credentials
– Using your log-in credentials, go to the main application page:
- Login credentials created last year are still applicable but if you have your login information, reset then create a new PIN.
– On this page a parent can:
- View or edit your details,
- Register your child information by clicking on the “ Register Learner” link (Application cannot be made unless a learner is registered)
- Apply by clicking the link “Apply for 2017”
– General Application
- Select a learner,
- Select the grade applied for,
- Select the address (home or work) for the system to pop-up the three closest schools to the address
- Click “Apply” to submit the application
- An SMS will be sent to your cellphone number to confirm the submission of the online application
– Application for a learner with a sibling at a school
- Select a learner,
- Select the grade applied for,
- Tick the checkbox to select the sibling’s school
- If the sibling’s school does not display, click the “Add Sibling Details” to register sibling information first, then select the sibling’s school
- Select the address (home or work) for the system to pop-up the two closest schools to the address
- Click “ Apply” to submit your application
- An SMS will be sent to your cellphone number to confirm the submission of the online application
– Application to a school of choice
- Select a learner,
- Select the grade applied,
- Select “school of choice” option on the address dropdown to select a school
- Select an a address (home or work) on the second address dropdown and the two closest schools to the address with be displayed
- Click “Apply” to submit your application
- An SMS will be sent to your cellphone number to confirm the submission of the online application
Placement of learners by schools:
The placement of learners will commence on 24 June and close on 25 July. You will receive an SMS offering a place. A letter will also be sent to indicate if the application was successful or not. You will be given 7 days to confirm your acceptance or rejection of the placement offer.
