CBD comes alive at zoo with music in the park festival

Pretoria Zoo makes Tshwane CBD come alive.

History was made at the National Zoological Gardens on Saturday with the first music in the park festival. Residents flocked to the zoo for fun and music.

The zoo hosted the event in conjunction with Market@TheSheds as part of Heritage day weekend celebrations.

Vusi Mahlasela and an array of upcoming bands entertained the crowd. Music talent included New Creation, Urban Village, The Lectric Monks, DMDC, Saxtons and Rock Ruler and the Jam Gang.

The festival started at 12:00 and featured stalls with cocktails, wine, craft beer and food. Fashion and art design items completed the experience.

“We are hosting these events not only to celebrate the city’s cultural richness but also to attract people to the creative and cultural heart of the inner city,” said Craig Allendby, spokesperson of the Zoo.
