DA leader visits Pretoria food market

Pretoria residents impressed with newly-elected DA leader's visit.

Selfies with the newly-elected Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane were the order of the day at the Hazel food market and Jubilee park in Sunnyside on Saturday.

Maimane visited the capital city to meet and greet its people.

Maimane said his visit is about getting to know people.

“I chose this place because it’s somewhat of a job-creation opportunity and a good place to get the community together.”

He said through his visits to different communities he learned about people’s problems so that his party could work on solving them.

Maimane said the DA was ready to take over the capital city in the next election in order to serve its people.

DA Gauteng chairman Solly Msimanga said the party had plans for Pretoria.

“We will still visit other areas like Mamelodi and the Moot. We will be working hard to better Pretoria,” Msimanga said.

People were excited to meet and spend time with Maimane and scores sought to have photos taken with him.
