Mashigo urged resident to continue to make the following water-conservation measures part of their normal lifestyle:

– Do not water or irrigate your garden with a hosepipes or sprinkler system between 06:00 and 18:00.

– Do not wash your vehicle with a hosepipe.

– Do not refill your swimming pool.

– Instal a low-flow shower head and tap aerators where possible.

– Use a dual-flush toilet cistern.

– Use a broom instead of a hosepipe to clean a driveway or patio.

– Collect rainwater to reuse in the garden or wash the car.

– Cover the swimming pool to reduce water evaporation.

– Take a short shower rather than a bath.

– Close the tap while brushing your teeth or shaving.

– Regularly check toilets and taps around the home for leaks.

He urged residents to report water leaks, burst pipes and all water wastage to the metro.
