Help look for missing Mamelodi school girl
Vanessa Mthombeni’s family is desperately looking for the Grade 10 J Kekana secondary school learner.
A Mamelodi family has asked the public to help find their missing daughter, who was last seen on September 14.
Nompumelelo Vanessa Mthombeni (16) of Leeuwfontein in Mamelodi East was last seen at home by her mother.
Roslyn Mthombeni said she last saw her daughter on the day she went missing.
Mthombeni said she was doing laundry around 12:00 while Vannessa was inside the house taking a bath.
After finishing her laundry, she took some of the clothing inside for ironing.
Mthombeni said she noticed it was quiet inside the house, and she went to check for her outside, but her daughter was nowhere to be found.
Nompumelelo, a Grade 10 learner at J Kekana Secondary School, was last seen wearing a striped white and black T-shirt and blue jeans with black and white Reebok sneakers.
Mthombeni said this is not the first time her daughter disappeared, but “we always knew where to look for her”.
“We have searched everywhere for her, including her friend’s place, her school, and generally around Mamelodi.”
Mamelodi East police confirmed they have already started with investigations.
Her mother opened a missing person’s case on September 30.
Mthombeni pleaded with her daughter to please come back home, saying life without her was not the same.
She said her three sisters are missing her, and if they have wronged her in any way, she should come and they would fix whatever is bothering her.
The family further said they had rumours that she was seen somewhere in Ext 4, Mamelodi East.
Police said there is no waiting period to report a missing person.
