Help find missing mother from Soshanguve (56)

She was last seen waiting to board a bus to Thohoyandou.

Police need help in finding Jukulyn resident from Soshanguve, Suzan Tshabalala (56), who disappeared on July 5.

She was last seen at the NAFCOC shopping centre, where she intended to board a City to City bus to Thohoyandou with her friend, Salvina Malatjie.

Warrant Officer Andrew Theletsane said Tshabalala’s daughter accompanied her to the bus stop before going to work.

Theletsane said Tshabalala told her daughter she would later travel to Zimbabwe.

“When her daughter tried to contact her later, her phone went off, and she has been unreachable since,” said Theletsane.

He added that Tshabalala’s passport expired 14 years ago, in May 2010, making it unlikely that she could have crossed international borders.

Tshabalala was wearing blue trousers, a grey hat, black jacket, and short black boots on the day she disappeared.

“Her friend, Salvina Malatjie, who was supposed to travel with her, is also from Soshanguve but originally from Tzaneen,” said Theletsane.

Theletsane is urging anyone with information regarding Tshabalala’s disappearance to come forward.

“If you have any details, please contact the authorities immediately,” he said.

According to the SAPS website, there is no waiting period to report a missing person.

Follow these tips to report a missing person:

– Report a missing person at your nearest police station immediately.
– Produce a recent photograph of the missing person, if possible.
– Give a complete description of the missing person’s last whereabouts, clothes that they were wearing, as well as any information that can assist the investigating officer.
– Complete and sign a SAPS 55(A) form. This form safeguards the SAPS from hoax reports and indemnifies it for distributing the photograph and information of the missing person.
– Obtain the investigating officer’s contact details, and send any additional information that might become available.
– If a missing person is found or returns voluntarily, inform the investigating officer immediately. A SAPS 92 form must be completed to inform the Bureau of Missing Persons that the missing person’s report can be removed from the circulation system.
