Cold fronts to hit: Will Pretoria feel the freeze?

The weather service said another series of cold fronts will make landfall this week. Will Pretoria residents be affected?

Another series of cold fronts will make landfall this week. Let’s take a look at the expected weather, especially for Pretoria.

According to VoxWeather forecaster Michelle Cordier, isolated showers are still possible around the eastern escarpment on Tuesday, and isolated showers will also occur in the southwest on Tuesday and Wednesday.

“The next two stronger cold fronts are arriving overnight into Friday with cold, wet, and windy weather in the southwest, and snow is possible this weekend in the Cape Provinces and over the southern Drakensberg.”

Cordier said that, luckily for Pretoria residents, this series of cold fronts will not affect Pretoria.

“The temperature will stay around 23-25 degrees for the next week. The fronts will mainly affect the south-western Cape, especially towards the weekend.

“The weekend is still far off, but it looks like it could snow again from Saturday afternoon over the mountains in the Western Cape and Northern Cape and later also in the Eastern Cape and over the southern Drakensberg.”

She said the weather in Gauteng will remain relatively comfortable for the next week.

Cordier said that it is an early prediction and could change before the weekend.
