Five suspects nabbed, goods recovered

Two bicycles were restored to the first complainant and stolen items including laptops, a tablet, TV, generator and alcohol were returned in the second incident.

Complete Security Intelligence (CSI) arrested two suspects in Lynnwood for theft of bicycles on Wednesday, July 17 after units responded at 03:36.

CSI CEO Dana Bloem said they responded to a bicycle theft incident at 310C The Hillside in Lynnwood.

He said the unit received information from the complainant that two bicycles had been stolen from the property.

“The unit searched the area and observed a man on the corner of Sussex [Avenue]. After questioning the individual, it was determined that he was a security guard who saw people running into the woods,” Bloem said.

He said while the R1 unit was investigating and searching the area, a man was spotted riding a bicycle on Lynnwood Road.

Bloem said the unit pursued the suspect and apprehended him.

“A second suspect was apprehended by officers of CSI 4 unit and Brinant in a nearby yard,” Bloem said.

He said the stolen bicycles were recovered and returned to the complainant.

The apprehended suspects were transported to the police station for booking and further investigation.

In a separate incident, on Friday, July 12, the security company arrested three suspects for housebreaking and theft in Lynnwood Glen.

Bloem said at around 01:04 the control room received an alarm at Kasteel Road in the Lynnwood area.

“The control room contacted the client and a house break-in was confirmed.”

Bloem said the control room despatched R1 and 2 units to attend to the scene.

“On route, the R2 unit asked for more backup and Interactive Security gave assistance.”

Bloem said the premises were searched. There was no trace of the suspects.

He said as the officers searched further, and across the street, three suspicious men were seen running towards the Shell Garage on Glenwood Road.

“The teams chased the suspects and eventually caught [up with] them. Upon arrival at the garage the stolen items were discovered hidden under a truck,” Bloem said.

He said the teams recovered a flat-screen TV, two laptops, two Bluetooth speakers, a tablet, a generator, a compressor, a lighter and a bag full of alcohol.

The suspects are facing charges of housebreaking and theft.

Bloem said the resident was extremely happy and thanked CSI for their quick response.
