Man killed during a house robbery in Moot

Anyone with information on the location of the suspects to visit their nearest local police station.

A man, believed to be in his 80s, was killed during a house robbery in Moot, north of Pretoria, on Saturday, June 15 at around 13:00.

According to Life Guard Security’s Kobus Olivier, the security company received a tip-off about a car abandoned on Soutpan Road in Pretoria North.

“Our Life Guard Priority Crimes Unit received information from Apiesrivier-Noord Gemeenskap Forum about the abandoned vehicle.

“The unit got the owner’s address of the vehicle that stays in the Moot area,” said Olivier.

He said the unit then proceeded to the address and found a deceased old man.

“A man believed to be in his 80s was found deceased in the house, and the conclusion was made that the vehicle was stolen during the house robbery,” he said.

Olivier said the vehicle, with various stolen property, was kept safe and handed over to the police.

A case of house robbery and fatal assault was opened, and no arrests have been made thus far.

The police could not confirm the incident at the time of publishing.
