Alleged drug dealers bust in the Moot

The two suspects were found in possession of Mandrax and nyaope as well as a large amount of money.

Police in collaboration with Proshield private security company arrested two alleged drug dealers in the Moot on Sunday, May 26 after a tip-off was given to law enforcement agencies.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Johan van Dyk said the duo was arrested on Bloubokkie Street in Koedoespoort.

Van Dyk said the teams seized packages of Mandrax tablets, nyaope and a large amount of money.

The arrest occurred around 03:00 after the police followed up on information that two suspects were dealing drugs.

“The teams acted on the information received and around 03:00 two suspects inside a tent were found in possession of Mandrax tablets and nyaope as well as a large amount of money.”

He said the men are facing charges of possession and dealing with drugs and are expected to appear in court this week.
