Desperate family needs help to find missing teenage daughter

Kikso Mokoena was last seen by her aunt on May 4 at around 1pm at her home.

A distraught family from Mamelodi West Section 1 is desperately searching for their missing teenage daughter who vanished on May 4.

Kikso Mokoena, who is 17, was last seen by her aunt on Saturday at around 13:00.

She wore a black and red sweater, black leggings with black sneakers.

Aunt Elizabeth Skhosana said they reported her niece missing on Tuesday, May 7.

She last saw her in the afternoon making her way to her friend’s place in the same area.

“We searched almost everywhere for her, and no one knows where she is, even the friend that she said she was going to,” said Skhosana.

She said the friend said she last saw Mokoena at school last Thursday.

She said they have gone to several places that her friends sent them to, but there is still no trace of her.

Skhosana said the family is in pain and struggling to sleep.

“Her elder sister, who has a disability, asks about her every day and does not understand what is going on,” she said.

Skhosana said Mokoena is very close to her sister.

Police said they are helping the family search for the missing teen and urged residents to help in the search.

Anyone with information can contact Elizabeth Skhosana on 082 8612988/082 836 5004, Mamelodi SAPS on 068 326 9983 or Missing Children South Africa on 072 647 7464.

The missing teen’s family is asking for help to find her.
