Police need help to locate missing man from Eersterust

De Ruiter was reportedly on his way to the bank in Silverton and never returned home.

Eersterust police need help to trace a 69-year-old man who went missing on February 14.

Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Johan van Dyk, said Frank Colbyn de Ruiter from Eersterust was last seen going to the bank in Silverton and never returned home.

“It is alleged that De Ruiter was seen by an eyewitness in Moreleta Park wearing blue overalls, a jacket, black pants and was barefoot on February 27,” said Van Dyk.

De Ruiter’s height is 1.71m, his weight 69kg, and he has brown eyes.

Van Dyk said De Ruiter has a history of memory loss (dementia).

Police are asking anyone with information of his whereabouts to contact Warrant Officer Hartel of Eersterust police on 061 135 1528, #CrimeStop on 0860010111, or #MySAPSapp.

There is no waiting period to report a missing person.
