Africa Fest, November 18

This first of its kind music festival will feature some of the world’s best amapiano artists such as Makhadzi and DBN Gogo, not forgetting some of South Africa’s top talent, Uncle Waffles and Kabza de Smal.

Africa Fest will be held at Time Square Sunbet Arena in Menlyn from 15:00.

Jack Parow Oeh! Stage unveiling, November 18

Sowaar Bar is proudly naming its stage this weekend in honour of the late Angie Oeh, the Afrikaans music trailblazer that lost her battle with cancer in August.

The bar says the move is not just to celebrate the life of one of the greatest musicians it’s ever had on its stage, but to make sure there is a place where everyone who loves Angie can return and revel in her passion for music.

Jack Parow will break in the stage as only he can from 19:00 on Saturday.

Anton Goosen with Illimar Neitz, November 19

The father of Afrikaans rock music is putting on an intimate show for a feel-good throw-back to 40 years of the Liedjieboer.

Goosen will be joined by Illimar Neitz on the guitar for this unmissable Sunday lunch show at Café Barcelona in Colbyn.

Doors open at noon, with the legend taking to the stage at 14:00.

Elzabé Zietsman – Femme is Fatale, November 19

This one-day-only show at the Atterbury Theatre is an award-winning original cabaret, starring stage veteran Elzabé Zietsman and pianist Tony Bentel as they use stories and songs to shed light on gender-based violence, womanhood, dreams, love, friendship, acceptance… and murder.

Zietsman’s brave and unforgettable performance is an opportunity to see her at her peak as master of cabaret. She tackles a poignant text about the plight of women in South Africa and by seamlessly integrating songs, she creates a moving and sincere experience for the audience.

The show kicks off at 15:00.
