Start your weekend early as you and your friends compete for the weekly prize.

Quiz nights are increasingly popular events hosted at many bars and venues across Pretoria.

The quiz night will take place from 19:00 on Thursday at Jan Se Skuld in Montana.

Weary of Friday the 13th? Just make it fun!

Maak Dit Net Lekker is a compilation of Zamudio’s most popular songs that will put a skip in your step, and your heart.

Her music has a bit of everything, from soulful ballads, fun dance hits, to songs with a touch of humour.

As an added bonus, the event is in support of the Southern African Animal Cancer Association.

Catch it at the Centurion Theatre from 19:30 on Friday night.

Drive-in Movie, October 13

Enjoy a blast from the past with a drive-in movie at Menlyn Retail Park.

On show will be The Lost City, a movie about a reclusive romance novelist on a book tour with her cover model as they get swept up in a kidnapping attempt that lands them both in a cutthroat jungle adventure.

The event is charged per car with up to four occupants and starts at 18:30.

Enjoy the usual movie fare alongside pancakes and prego rolls on sale at the event.

Wild Lights at Menlyn Maine, October 14

Get into the Christmas spirit early at this one-of-a-kind annual event.

Life-size African animals covered in lights pair with special entertainment sets by Bronberg children’s choir, iMove, Son Grazia, Snare Drums, a marimba band, On-Que, and Janel du Toit.

The event caters for the whole family, with face painting, a petting zoo, a selfie station, and more.

The main event will take place from 19:00 to 20:00, but the lead-up starts at 13:00 with a Christmas market, ending at 22:00.

Riaan Benade, October 14

Looking to watch the Rugby World Cup semi-finals with a bit of entertainment in-between? Then the Kapstadt Brauhaus in Menlo Park is the place for you.

Doors open from 12:00 before the first semi-final match between Wales and Argentina at 17:00.

The Rowwe Bliksem singer will then take to the stage from 19:30 for an hour-long performance to build up to the Ireland and New Zealand match at 21:00.
