Nu Metro: Cinema experiences for everyone

Take your family for some movie fun at Nu Metro cinemas in Pretoria this weekend! There’s a new comedy-adventure releasing on Friday and Black Adam is now the Number 1 movie in South Africa after this new superhero blockbuster thundered into cinemas last weekend – including Menlyn Park’s 4DX and Xtreme theatres.

For Halloween fans, there’s a new horror movie lined up at Woodlands Boulevard’s luxurious VIP cinema. And, you can catch chart-topping rock superstars, Coldplay, live in concert from Argentina at Nu Metro Menlyn Park! Plus, there’s a live comedy show at Nu Metro Mams Mall in Mamelodi and a revolutionary true-life drama about abortion rights at Menlyn Park. The Music of the Spheres Live Concert Broadcast is a global music-event exclusively on the Big Screen with rocking sound in the larger-than-life Xtreme cinema at Nu Metro Menlyn Park this Saturday, 29 October 2022, at 16:30 – for one show only. Experience the vibe of being at a spectacular live music concert, only at Nu Metro – also featuring a special guest performance by Jin from supergroup BTS, performing the new single “The Astronaut” live on-stage with Coldplay in Argentina.

Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile is the awesome new comedy-adventure movie for the whole family, featuring new music from Shawn Mendes. When young Josh discovers Lyle, a singing crocodile in the attic, he must team up with his eccentric owner to protect his new friend. This charming movie goes to show the world that family can come from the most unexpected places and there’s nothing wrong with a big singing crocodile with an even bigger personality!

The terrifying horror-thriller The Devil’s Light starts showing at select Nu Metro cinemas for the Halloween weekend. In response to a global rise in demonic possessions, the Catholic Church reopens exorcism schools to train priests in the Rite of Exorcism. On this spiritual battlefield, an unlikely warrior rises: a young nun, Sister Ann (Jacqueline Byers). Sister Ann finds herself in a battle for the soul of a young girl, who she believes is possessed by the same demon that tormented her own mother years ago, and soon realizes the Devil has her right where he wants her….and it wants in.

Chicago, 1968. As the city and the nation are poised on the brink of political upheaval, suburban housewife Joy (Elizabeth Banks) leads an ordinary life with her husband and daughter. Her journey for a solution leads her to Virginia (Sigourney Weaver), an independent visionary fiercely committed to women’s health, and Gwen (Wunmi Mosaku), an activist who dreams of a day when all women will have access to abortion, regardless of their ability to pay.
