Assumption Convent Primary School prefect camp

A group of school children learned all about team building during an exciting school camp.

Assumption Convent Primary School’s prefects were recently treated to a camp at the Mighty Apies venue.

Ohlotse Mthembu (the school’s head girl) had this to say about her experience: “The prefect camp taught me a lot as a leader.

“As a head prefect, I learned not to take on everything by myself, but to let others help me.

“It also taught me not to be controlling, but to listen to other people’s ideas. It made me realise that with teamwork our challenging activities became successful.

“Motivation from others drove me as at times I felt like giving up, or incapable of doing something.

“I really enjoyed camp, along with the food. When I volunteered to clean up after we ate, it showed me not only to be a leader but to be a servant of the school.

“I saw my true potential on the obstacle course and how united we became as a team of leaders.

“I was able to get to know my friends better, along with their capabilities and full potential. I was also a support structure for my fellow leaders.

“These experiences not only built my leadership skills, but also my level of strength in life.”
