People enjoy National T20 Cricket Challenge

Cricket fans converged at High Performance Centre on Friday to watch the first series of Coca-Cola T20 Schools Challenge Nation finals ending on Sunday.

Cricket fans and players’ parents gathered at the High Performance Centre at Hatfield for the first series of the Coca-Cola T20 Schools Challenge National finals on Friday.

The finals which last until Sunday are the culmination of schools cricket’s exciting season.

This Coca-Cola T20 cricket series gave more than 11 000 players from 650 schools all over the country the opportunity to enjoy cricket while showcasing their skills.

It is believed that the future of South African cricket lies in the development of the sport at schools level.

72 players from six schools took part in the finals.

The competing schools are Grey College, Westville Boys High School, Wynberg Boys’s High School, Hoërskool Waterkloof, Kingwood College and St Stithians Boys College.
