Valentine’s Day fun walk set hearts racing

Residents of Capital Park participate in the Mountain Walk.

Capital residents and ratepayers association celebrated Valentine’s Day with a monthly 4.5km fun mountain walk on Capital Park Ridge.

The walk is held every second Saturday of the month. The starting point was at Coffie@Capital and kicked off at 07:00.

Strollers had the opportunity to walk the rough route and enjoy nature and dense bush with views of the city and Marabastad.

Darleen Burt, one of the organisers said: “The fun mountain walk has been running for two years and Ronald Renners was the founder of the event.”

Registration for the walk was R15 and catered for all ages.

“The mountain fun walk is like a tour, because participants get the opportunity to take pictures in the mountain and see heritage sites of the mountain,” said Burt.

The next mountain fun walk will be on 14 March.
