Mexican fiesta at Abbots College

Students enjoyed the Mexican Fiesta that was inspired by the famous artist, Frida Kahlo.

On Thursday Abbotts College held a Mexican Fiesta inspired by Frida Kahlo.

Kahlo’s lived and died in Mexico City. She was born on 6 July 1907 and died on 13 July 1954.

The Mexican and American Indian cultures were important in her work. 
Her work had also been described as surrealist.

Her work was often characterised by the suggestion of pain. Kahlo contracted polio at the age of 6.

Various artworks by the students of Abbotts College were exhibited.

The inspiration of Kahlo was a central theme in all the paintings. Mexican Fajitas and Tortillas were served and students and their families enjoyed the evening together.
