Curro Thatchfield learner new Gauteng junior majorette team captain

The team’s coach, Miss Palesa Chele, says it was a remarkable achievement as the team is only three years old.

Curro Thatchfield Primary School’s very own Keabetswe Morake has been selected as the 2019 captain for the Gauteng junior majorette team.

She was selected out of eight other junior majorette teams.

Keabetswe will lead the team at the upcoming Rand Show Cup hosted by the Gauteng Majorette and Cheerleading Association on Saturday, 27 April 2019.

Here they will compete in four majorette categories, namely pom, non-prop, mace and baton groups.

The team’s coach, Miss Palesa Chele, says it was a remarkable achievement as the team is only three years old.

“Keabetswe Morake, along with the 10 other Curro drummies who have received their junior provincial colours, will be eligible for the South African colours trials hosted by the South African Majorette and Cheerleading Association later this year,” said Chele.

Acting executive head Mark Cloete said: “The girls have worked incredibly hard and we are extremely proud of all of them. This placing has given Keabetswe and her team a strong incentive to continue to excel within the sport.”
