SCHOOL: Sutherland High School Wins the Softball C League

The team was coached by Neil Fourie and managed by Simone Olivier.

Sutherland high school’s softball first team has had an amazing season in 2018, winning all eight games they played in the C-league.

They beat Crawford 10-0 in the semi-finals to go through to the finals, beating Gerrit Maritz 18-1.

The Grade 12 learners were presented with their awards at the matric valediction service last week.

Second-time honours recipients for softball went to Cara Bacon, Ashley Rae Cook, Sharne Muller with Gillian Hale receiving AD ASTRA honours.

Colours awards were presented to Jade Bhana, Jade Olivier, Deryn Johnson and Masego Ramasodi.

Cara Bacon was awarded Most Dedicated Senior Player and Most Promising Player with The Best Overall Fielder Award going to Masego Ramasodi.

Gillian Hale received awards for Best Senior Pitcher, Best Senior Batter and Player of the Year.

The Grade 10 and 11 players played exceptionally well, with the Most Improved Senior Player trophy being shared by Palesa Lesole and Livhuwani Nesengani.

Kayleigh Visagie was awarded the Trophy for the Most Versatile player.

The team was coached by Neil Fourie and managed by Simone Olivier.

The scorer of the team was Ciana Rust. Sutherland high school is extremely proud of the team’s performance and dedication this season and we look forward to outstanding results in 2019.
