Ill young ones treated like queens

Reach for a Dream Foundation fulfils dreams of children with life threatening diseases

A dream has come true for about 15 children who benefited from the Queen-for-a-Day event aimed at spoiling little girls who suffer from life-threatening diseases.

The girls were hosted on Friday at Imbalie Beauty in Centurion where they treated to manicures and face art. They also enjoyed lots of fun activities and delicious treats.

The fun-filled day was organised by Reach For A Dream with the main objective of fulfilling dreams among children with life-threatening illnesses. Imbalie beauty sponsored the entire day and surprised the girls with tons of gifts.

Marketing co-ordinator in Pretoria Marnique Nel said: “The Queen-For-A-Day project is one of the Reach For A Dream’s initiates where we take 15 girls who suffer from life-threatening illnesses to be pampered and treated like queens for the entire day.

“Sometime when these young girls are faced with a life-threatening illness, they don’t always feel as pretty and brave as the ‘normal’ girls,. This is especially for them to remind them how beautiful they are and to give them that extra confidence.”

Nel said after all the fun and pampering, each had an opportunity to walk the red carpet and be crowned as Queens. “Each girl got a chance to strut her stuff on the red carpet where everyone cheered her on and finally received her sash and crown. This was the ultimate girls-only party and one that they will remember forever.”
