From next month, they were expecting to have at least 100 cars per event, and all gate-takings to be donated to charity.
The Pretoria Old Motor Club (PMC) hosted its Bonnet Up event in Silverton on Sunday.
Friends and family had an opportunity to look at the engines and take pictures of the cars on display.
Club public relations officer Frirk Kraamwinkel said the PMC hosted an event on the second Sunday of every month, except in May.
“Every month we have a social event, some of the events have themes. For example, next month, we have American day, April we have veterans’ and vintage day.”
“We do not do one on the second Sunday in May, as we will be having “Cars on the Roof” in Montana. We are still not sure about the event, they are yet to confirm the venue for us.”
Kraamwinkel said people who wanted to join the club did not necessarily need to have a car. “They are only required to fill in a form.
“You only need to complete a form, you do not even need a car to be a member, you just need to have an interest in cars. We currently have 143 paid up members.”
Kraamwinkel said from next month, they were expecting to have at least 100 cars per event, and all gate-takings to be donated to charity.
“We did not collect money today, it is only going to be from next month on. People will pay R20 at the gate and all the money that made will be donated straight to the charity.”
