GALLERY: Hopeful hearts gather to watch Boks game at Loftus Park

A sea of green and gold was all you could see as excited rugby fans came together in the specially closed-off VIP area in the middle of the newly built Loftus Park centre.

The Vodacom Blue Bulls with the LFP Group hosted a special event at Loftus Park in the east of Pretoria on Saturday.

This as people from all over could gather to watch the much anticipated first game for the Springboks against the All Blacks in the Rugby World Cup 2019.

A sea of green and gold was all you could see as excited rugby fans came together in the specially closed-off VIP area in the middle of the newly built Loftus Park centre to watch the match on a big screen.

Attendees were treated to free vouchers for drinks and shooters and received a specially printed cap in celebration of the match.

“I am a true Pretorian at heart and came from Cape Town to attend this event with my friends,” said Marthinus Joubert, who dressed up as the ultimate Springboks fan with a green painted face and hard hat with horns.

Two games were shown – one between Fiji and Australia, another between France and Argentina – building up to the Springboks match around midday.

The exceptional spirit of the day was undeniable as attendees could indulge in deliciously-made gourmet foods in the VIP area. Later, they could later meet and greet some of the Blue Bulls players in attendance.

“We love the atmosphere and the excitement around the day,” said Andre Pienaar.

“We are always the first to sit in the sun and enjoy the day. So why not enjoy this lovely weather when watching the Boks?”
