Hundreds turn up at Proe’toria festival
“We want to make it a food, wine, craft gin and beer festival along with some fantastic music.”
Hundreds of people attended the annual Proe’toria festival at the botanical gardens on Saturday.
Festival founder Leon Pheiffer said the event was in its fourth year and that it was the first time that it was held at the botanical gardens.
“We want to make it a food, wine, craft gin and beer festival along with some fantastic music,” he said.
Pheiffer added they were looking into expanding this annual festival to make it broader culturally.
“We want to expand the festival to include more cultures so all of the cultures in our country are included,” he said.
“The idea is to have different stages with various kinds of music.”
Expanding the festival was aimed at offering attendees the opportunity to get to know and educate them about different cultures in South Africa.
Speaking about the name of the festival, Pheiffer said it was centred around giving people a taste of what Pretoria had to offer.
The event featured artists such as Karlien van Jaarsveld, Corlea, Demi Lee Moore and Dewald Wasserfall – to name a few.
