When love and stage 2 load shedding collide

Stage 2 load shedding will be implemented from 08:00 this morning and is expected to continue until 22:00.

Eskom will implement stage 2 rotational load shedding this Valentine’s Day.

In a statement, the power utility announced that the measure was taken to alleviate pressure on the overloaded grid and will kick in at 08:00 throughout the country.

Load shedding is expected to continue until 22:00 tonight.

Stage 2 calls for 2000MW to be rotationally load shed nationally during a given period.

“Despite the generating units returning to service as planned, emergency reserves of diesel and water were still very low,” Eskom said.
