SCHOOL: Maragon Olympus learner receives provincial colours for ice hockey

He was invited by the South African Ice Hockey Federation to participate in the Arnold Classic Africa.

Ethan-Mikyle Wilkins is in Grade 3 at Maragon Olympus.

He started playing ice hockey at the age of five.

This year, he was invited by the South African Ice Hockey Federation to participate in the Arnold Classic Africa in May.

While only nine years old, he competed in the under-12 and under-14 classes.

He was also selected to represent Gauteng in the interprovincial tournament that took place at the end of June as part of the under-12 Leopards ice hockey team.

He received provincial colours for his achievement and participation.

They were a very young team, each player representing their province for the first time.

Taking this into consideration, they were amazing.

The president of SAIHF commented on how well they played.

Ethan-Mikyle played his heart out and was very proud to represent his province in the sport he loves most.
