Pretoria Boys High hosts national Highland gathering

The band consists of grades 8 to 12 and is 47-years-old.

The Pretoria Boys High School pipe band hosted its annual national Highland gathering on Saturday.

Organiser Pearl Meyer said about eight schools participated, including Cornwall Hill College, Benoni high, St Benedict’s college, Transvaal Scottish pipe band, King Edward VII, African Skye, Cape Town Highlanders.

“We are privileged to host the second championship gathering in our season each year. This is the second championship, we had one at the end of April and we will have another one at the end of July in Benoni,” said Meyer.

She said between the gatherings there were regional competitions.

Pretoria Boys High pipe bandmaster James Orr said he was proud.
