Local singers wow at Brooklyn

The quartet sang well-known and beloved musicals the company planned to stage in future.

Pretoria artists opened the ambitious programme of a local community theatre company at the weekend to great fanfare at the Brooklyn Theatre.

Singers Deirdre van Schalkwyk, Marina Botha Spies, Jean Pierre Verster and Tinus Spies, founders of Fullhouse Productions, said they wanted to give the audience a taste of what was coming in the near future.

The quartet sang, accompanied by pianist Paul Ferreira, from well-known and beloved musicals the company planned to stage in future.

“The programme was based on well-known numbers Fullhouse plan on producing over the next five years including favourites like Fiddler on the Roof, My Fair Lady and Into the Woods,” said Verster adding Fullhouse would showcase the abundant talents and skills of the local community.
