East employers return from holiday to find murdered domestic worker

A laptop and tablet were stolen in the suspected burglary.

Elarduspark residents made a grisly discovery at their home in Dakota Street today: their domestic worker had been murdered while they were away on holiday.

“The victim had been stabbed with a sharp object which was discovered at the scene,” said police spokesperson Captain Daniel Mavimbela.

The employers had been on holiday since last Friday.

In addition to the murder, a burglary case is also being investigated since it is alleged that both a laptop and tablet were stolen.

“The local police made an undertaking to prevent both serious and violent crimes and crimes against women and children,” said Mavimbela.

“This case is not an exception. The suspect has to be brought to book.”
