Suspected cable theft left some areas in the east of Pretoria without electricity on Friday morning.
The outage has also affected the Mooikloof plots and surroundings.
City’s spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said the city responded swiftly by dispatching a team to investigate the cause.
“Customers will be kept abreast about the estimated time of restoration.”

Areas affected by the power outage are:
- Olympus
- Zwavelpoort
- Mooikloof plots
Mashigo advised residents to treat all network points as live at all times.
Customers affected by power failures were urged to report by texting the word “power” followed by their account number to 44676.
Alternatively, report a power failure through to the customer care call centre on 012 358 9999 (choose electricity option), visit www.tshwane.gov.za and follow the report power failure link or visit various regional walk-in centres.
