A man was killed in a shack fire near central Pretoria.

Police spokesperson, Captain Augustinah Selepe said the fire broke out at the Salvokop informal settlement early Saturday morning.
“Police were alerted of the blaze by residents,” Selepe said.

She said 50 shacks were destroyed.

“A case of arson have been opened for further investigation at the police station,” she said.
