A Re Yeng first phase completed
Completion of the first phase of dry runs between Church Square and Wonderboom has been completed.
The MMC for roads and transport, Sheila Senkubuge, announced the completion of the first phase of dry runs between Church Square and Wonderboom has been completed.
The first phase started in May and it was free for commuters so they can familiarise themselves to the system, procure connector cards to allow for easy commuting and to also give their views.
In the second phase commuters will now have to have connector cards which they can get at all A Re Yeng bus stations, Church Square and Sammy Marks walk-in centers.

In preparation of the full operations, the city is finalising the construction of the interchange facility at Rainbow Junction and a depot at Belle Ombre.
The construction of the depot experienced a few delays due to poor performance by one of the contractors.
The depot will accommodate 144 buses and the depot is expected to be completed by 30 September.
The new distance-based fares will be charged on a straight-line distance that one travels: 0-3km – R7, 3-8km – R8, 8-14km – R10, 14-21km – R12, 21-29km – R14, 29-38km – R16, 38-48km – R18, 48-59km – R20, 59-71km – R22.
The permanent compensation report will serve at the next council for approval and this will allow the taxi industry to clear the routes for A Re Yeng to ferry passengers into the CBD.
