Alleged rapist, drug dealer busted
The two men were arrested in two separate incidents in Soshanguve and Akasia.
An alleged rapist was arrested by the police in Soshanguve on Monday, March 21.
“It was alleged that the victim had visited her boyfriend at his place,” police spokesperson Constable Nhlanhla Zondi said.
Upon arrival at her boyfriend’s place, he was found drinking alcohol with his cousin.
Following this, the girlfriend went straight to bed.
“When she woke up, she realised that sexual intercourse took place while she was asleep,” he said.
Zondi said the girlfriend was allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend when she asked what happened.
“The assault was accompanied by vulgar words towards the victim,” he said.
The docket was investigated and a 37-year-old man was subsequently arrested on Monday evening.
Meanwhile, in Akasia, a man was arrested for dealing in dagga at Wonderpark Estate.
“Akasia VisPol head, together with his team, responded swiftly and the 32-year-old was arrested,” police spokesperson Constable Lindiwe Mabasa said.
The arrest was made after the police got a tip-off.
