Several streets in the city expected to be affected by march

The reason we are having this march is that we are tired of the corruption taking place within the Department of Health.

Several streets in the city centre are expected to be affected by a march by the Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) on Monday morning.

TAC said a memorandum would be handed over to President Cyril Ramaphosa and Minister of Health Joe Phaahla at the Union Buildings.

“The reason we are having this march is that we are tired of the corruption taking place within the Department of Health. We are calling upon the president to take action on those who were implicated in corruption and theft of public funds,” TAC said.

The marchers will gather from 10:00 at the Loftus Triangle and move to the Union Buildings.

The route of the march is as follows:

From Loftus triangle, they will join Eastwood Street, turn left into Stanza Bopape Street, and proceed straight until they reach the Union Buildings.

The following intersections will be affected:

– Wessels Street
– Leyds Street
– Hill Street

They are expected to disperse from the Union Buildings at 13:00.

Tshwane metro police officers will be deployed to monitor the march and all affected streets.

Motorists are advised to avoid the affected streets and use alternative routes such as:

– Nana Sita Street
– Visagie Street
– Struben Street
– Francis Baard Street
– Pretorius Street
