Mams mother missing for almost a month

Grandmother has been taking care of her two-year-old grandson from the day her mother went missing.

A Mamelodi grandmother is seeking the community’s help in searching for her daughter who went missing almost a month ago.

Charmaine Regomoditswe Adams (18) from Mamelodi west, section A5, is a grade 11 learner at J Kekana secondary school.

She was last seen on July 3 when she went to buy pizza at Mams mall in Mamelodi east and never came back.

Her mother Doris Adams (51) said she has been taking care of her two-year-old grandson since the day his mother went missing.

Doris spoke to her daughter the following day asking about her whereabouts and the girl said was on her way home after she slept at her aunt’s place in Nellmapius.

However, she never returned home.

Adams said her aunt confirmed that she was indeed in Nellmapius and that she left around 16:00 on her way back home on July 4.

Charmaine Regomoditswe Adams was last seen wearing black tracksuit pants, a white shirt and a black jacket.

Her family is concerned about her as “life is not easy without her at home” especially for her son.

Adams pleaded with her daughter to please come back home because they are worried about her safety.

“We don’t know what happened to our daughter, what she is eating or where is she sleeping in the cold,” said Adams.

The family also claimed they went to the police station after several days to report her as missing, but they were turned away.

Adams said one of the officers told her she must go home as her daughter was probably just visiting a boyfriend and will soon return home.

“Days and weeks went by without her coming back. Today it’s almost a month she has been missing,” she said.

She said this is not the first time she went missing, but she always informed them about her safety. She has never stayed away more than two days.

“It pains me that no one knows where she is. It’s even more frustrating that I can’t phone her because her cellphone is off,” said Doris.

The family searched everywhere, at her friends’ places and even went to her school.

Adams said they won’t rest until she is found and they are following up on all leads.

The Adams family can be contacted on 060 927 2586 with clues to her whereabouts.

Police spokesperson Captain Johannes Maheso confirmed the case is being investigated by the Mamelodi West police station.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts can contact the police on 08600 10111.
