East night market comes alive

The night market takes place every Friday from 16:30 until 21:30 and it is very family orientated.

Pretoria High School Old Boys Club again hosted yet another successful Friday Feast Market.

The night market takes place every Friday from 16:30 until 21:30 and it is very family orientated.

The venue is free, safe and secure, said market organiser Jacqueline Rossouw.

“We have delicious food available from a variety of stalls and there’s also art and craft on the other side as well. “

Rossouw said the market kicked off last year in March and happened every second Friday.

“Most of our customers are here every Friday so, at times when we didn’t have a market, they felt like they were losing out, so we decided to have it every Friday, she added.

Most parents bring their children here because there’s a big open field for them to play ball games or even do kiddies’ art. Those who have pets can also bring them here for a walk.”

There are also prizes to win for market-goers during the course of the night.

Rossouw said every Friday they have live music from local artists

Crafter Moses Kenias said Friday Feast Market was a place to be if you enjoy family time.

“This is a very nice place, very convenient for many.”

I’ve been selling art and craft for over six years and you don’t see a lot of night markets in Pretoria, so this one is unique,” he said.
