The trial of Nicolas Ninow, accused of raping a girl at a restaurant, is set to start in the Pretoria High court on Monday.
Ninow is accused of raping a seven-year-old girl at a Dros restaurant in Silverton in September last year.
The 21-year old was found fit to stand trial after a 30-day psychiatric evaluation at the Weskoppies psychiatric hospital.
His referral to the psychiatric hospital came after it was submitted to the court he suffered from bipolar disorder and drug abuse from the age of 14.

It is alleged Ninow snatched the girl from the women’s toilets of the restaurant and took her to the men’s bathrooms where he allegedly raped her.
He faces charges of rape, intimidation and possession of drugs.
The trial is scheduled to last until 20 September.
*Though the law prohibits identifying someone accused of a sexual offence before this individual has pleaded to the charge, Caxton made an editorial decision to name Ninow following the circumstances around his previous appearance on 2 October 2018.
