SPORT: AmaTuks face tricky Galaxy this weekend

Galaxy’s recent good form in the Nedbank Cup has taken them to the semi-finals.

With five games remaining this season in the National First Division ( NFD), points are up for grabs for all the teams.

Rejuvenated AmaTuks, are looking for a strong finish having started the season poorly. Since the arrival of coach Zipho Dlangalala early this year, the Pretoria students have moved out of relegation following impressive wins over Royal Eagles and Mbombela United to 11th place on 31 points from 25 matches.

On Sunday, they face high-flying TS Galaxy from Mpumalanga.

Galaxy’s recent good form in the Nedbank Cup took them to the semi-finals and are now the ‘ultimate underdogs’ in the cup competition.

The NFD club, owned by football agent Tim Sukazi, was formed just four years ago and have grown to one of the most talked about teams in the NFD. On top of that, they have recruited former Chippa United coach Dan ‘Dance’ Malesela.

Malesela’s men sit in eighth position in the NFD having suffered only seven defeats the whole season.

A trip to Pretoria won’t be easy given the fact that the students have won big games on home turf.

Both sides are far from the relegation battle and with the playoff spot also out of reach, a top half finish seems the only ambition.

Dlangalala said his aim is to get the team to play and score goals, and urged fans to be patient because “positive results will come with time”.

“It would be foolish to sprint off hoping for the best. Just ‘walking’ at a leisurely pace expecting results is also not an option. I told the players to think about that,” Dlangalala said earlier.
