Streets to be affected by FAWU march

The marchers will gather at the Tshwane Events Centre, next to WF Nkomo Street, from 10:00, and they will depart to the National Treasury at Church Square at 11:00.

Several streets in the CBD will be closed on Tuesday 14 August during a march by the Food and Allied Workers Union (FAWU).

The marchers will gather at the Tshwane Events Centre, next to WF Nkomo Street, at 10:00 then depart to the National Treasury on Church Square at 11:00 where they will hand over their memorandum of demand.

The marchers will move from the Tshwane Events Centre along WF Nkomo Street east to the National Treasury.

The following intersections in WF Nkomo Street will be affected:

• Es’kia Mphahlele Drive

• Cowie Street

• Prince’s Park Avenue

• Kgosi Mampuru Street

• Sophie de Bruyn Street

• Bosman Street

The marchers are expected to reach the National Treasury at 13:00 and disperse at 14:00.

Tshwane Metro Police officers will be deployed to monitor the march and all affected streets. Motorists are advised to avoid these streets. Alternative routes to use could be:

• Struben Street

• Johannes Ramokhoase Street

• Pretorius Street

• Francis Baard Street

• Nana Sita Street
