Annual Jacaranda FM & Tracker, Off the Beat ‘n Track mountain biking

A super successful mountain biking and music family fun day

More than 3 000 people streamed to the second annual Jacaranda FM & Tracker, Off the Beat ‘n Track mountain biking and music family fun day on Saturday.

The event was held at The Big Red Barn in Irene.

Altus Venables said the event was the biggest of its kind in Gauteng and offered something for any age and riding skill level, with courses of 2km for the kids, and 5km, 15km and 35km for the more serious riders.

“Riders came out from Pretoria, Johannesburg and communities at large to enjoy this family fun day in the sun,” said Venables.

Throughout the day, all were entertained by performances by some of SA’s best live entertainment acts Goodluck, Die Heuwels Fantasties and Dr. Victor, while they relaxed on the picnic lawns and enjoyed an array of gourmet food.

He further said children were entertained throughout the day with treasure hunts, acrobranching and live puppet shows.

Kevin Fine of Jacanda FM said the event offered something truly unique.

“A mix of sport and music in an outing that the whole family can enjoy. It’s a sight to behold to see thousands – young and old – flocking to these grounds and doing something they love, with the people they love,” said Fine.

Michael Du Preez Executive: Marketing and Product at Tracker also said it was awesome to be back at the 2nd Jacaranda FM & Tracker Off the Beat ’n Track.

“It is becoming the cycling event you want in your calendar if you’re looking to spend real quality time with the people you love.”
