Bull security warns about drunken driving in Pretoria east

“There were also a few attempted break-ins as well as [fence] jumpers that fled the scenes.”

Bull Security in the east of Pretoria had its hands full dealing with accidents in the area at the weekend.

Spokesperson, French Jooste said that driving under the influence of alcohol was a major contributing factor to the accidents.

With the rainfall this past Saturday, French said that his team had seen a lot of accidents mainly around Pretoria East pubs and clubs.

Jooste said most of the accidents occurred at month end.

“This is a big problem at the moment, especially because it is end of the month and people tend to use their money to drink and drive and that causes a lot of accidents,” said Jooste.

He warned that driving under the influence of alcohol was becoming one of the major problems in this area.

“There were also a few attempted break-ins as well as [fence] jumpers that fled the scenes.”

He also warned that with the festive season approaching, crime tended to increase.

“Please make sure that when you are going out with your friends to have fun, that there is a designated driver with you or feel free to use public transport services.”

According to Jooste, alcohol was a 80 percent contributor to domestic violence in Pretoria East.

French also thanked ambulance and paramedic service, ER24 for the support it had given him and his colleagues at Bull Security.

ER24 have been assisting us with medical emergencies, accidents and domestic violence cases over the weekend.”
