Market day held at Shirinda Primary School

Shirinda Primary School held entrepreneurs Day.

As part of their curriculum, the grade 7 learners of Shirinda Primary School held its annual Entrepreneurs Day recently.

The event was held at the school premises where the learners divided into groups of five, selling various items.

The learners were supported by the whole school and their educators.

Principal of the school, Lawrence Mukhari said this was part of the curriculum of the economic and management sciences.

“The pupils first wrote an exam about the entrepreneurs and today is practical. They are divided into five groups of pupils each consisting of five pupils,” said Mukhari.

“They will then get marks for the entrepreneur’s day for the third term examination that will be added to the end of the year’s final marks.”

The aim of the entrepreneur’s day is to help the learners learn how to run a business and how to market it.

The learners were selling various items at their stalls outside their classroom.

They did research before they could sell their products.

“Not only will the learners benefit from their studies but the school also, as the money raised on the day will be used for the school’s needs,” said Mukhari.
